Lots of stuff

Last weekend we had a camp auction at our church building. Supporters of camp come to a nice dinner at which they bring items or services to auction off as well as funds to buy things. Our girls made scarves, cookies, a cozy basket, and offered babysitting hours. In the midst of this, we had four little ones staying with us for the weekend while their parents were gone. Here is a picture of them watching a Veggie Tales movie - an attempt to wind down before bed. Also, a picture of the turkey cookies Grandma Carol, DJ and helpers made for the auction.

Another day this week Tana and DJ were busy in the kitchen. Tana had a science experiment with acids and bases. The glasses with all the pretty colors were the end result of the experiment and I thought it looked neat. Meanwhile, DJ was making "soup" for us at the kitchen table. Notice the variety of meat!

Outings

In October, I met my cousin Carrie, her kids, and Aunt Chris at the Minnesota Zoo. This was Levi's first zoo trip, but he hadn't yet really noticed animals. DJ, on the other hand, had a great time!

We were walking to the park one day and I had the boys plop down in front of this tree for a quick picture. The sun was a little bright!

I threw this picture of my hydrangea plant in...just because. I love this flower and was so happy to have my plant bloom this summer.

MY SAD NEWS

My digital camera is missing. I hope to replace it soon. There are so many smiles that need to be captured!!

Here's what's new at the Davidsons:

1. We celebrated today - Alyssa got accepted to Harding College.
2. DJ and I played at the park today and did a double in the swing!
3. Levi is beginning to express his opinions a little more vocally. He also happens to be sitting on my lap at the unearthly hour of 10:30 pm. He can't settle down tonight so he's helping me blog.
4. DJ has been trying out some new words lately; here are a few: glimpse, appointment, suddenly, technically
5. Kent is helping Tana with her Pre-calculus.
6. Last night we went thrift store shopping (Alyssa, Tana, Kalai and I). The girls are starting to like shopping a little more than they did a few years ago. That makes it fun!
7. I found a recipe for Rosemary Brownies and hope to try them tomorrow. They're just regular brownies with some fresh rosemary.
8. I've discovered the bulk foods section at our Rainbow Fresh grocery store. I'm enjoying trying out some new spices and herbs a little at a time. IT's great because you can just try a little.
9. I heard a wonderful song by Point of Grace today. I believe it's called "Turn up the Music" Wow! It's all about really living life. It reminds us to love and take time for the simple, special things in life. I need to get the lyrics.
9. Prayers for my mom and dad. They're taking care of my grandmother who is living with them now. Thanks!

Levi's Three Month Photos

He had just had his nap and was fed. It couldn't have been better timing. Whew! Notice the "peace sign". We didn't notice his hands until after this was photo was taken. :) (Please excuse the layout of these photos. I'm not sure how to fix them but at least you'll see these smiles!)

Summer Fun

The other day DJ and I snuck out to a nearby park while Levi was napping (big sisters were at home). It had rained recently so the sand was just damp enough to make castles, roads, moats, mountains... As we were playing, I couldn't help but notice how cute 5 year old hands and feet are.

Levi and Daddy love to laugh at each other! Levi's 4 months old tomorrow!! His new favorite discovery is blowing bubbles and making noises with his lips as he does so. He concentrates so intently on this and even managed to entertain himself during church. I have yet to get it on camera.

Work Weekend

DJ enjoyed using a shovel and helping the Olives with the Tether Ball area.

Kent spent much of his day working on the new log lodge by the lake

Kalai and Bethany took some time out for a beauty treatment - mud right from Mirror Lake!

DJ and Seth are deep in conversation. Seth's bandana was quite the hit with DJ.

Levi's one of MANY smiles! Here he is almost 4 months old.

Last weekend we went to FPYC for their work weekend. This is our first family picture since Levi was born.

DJ - our five year old

When Esther was here we went to the Mall of America. They've got a HUGE Lego area where kids can play for hours. DJ enjoyed this stop immensely!

DJ loves to follow Daddy around and they both mow the lawn!

Summer photos

Grandpa Bud and Grandma Vineta came to visit after camp. Here's Levi with a cheesy grin, enjoying his grandma.

One of our highlights this summer - Malia put Christ on in baptism at camp in July. Her dad had the privilege of baptizing her early one morning after devotions.

In July, DJ, Levi, and I flew out west to visit Mom and Dad and my grandparents. Grandpa and Grandma met us at a Spaghetti Factory and took us to dinner. We had a wonderful visit, and they enjoyed meeting Levi for the first time.

Here's Grandpa Bud reading a Country Life magazine with DJ. They're both farm boys at heart!
