I'm a mom of 8, and 5 of them became mine the day I married my husband Kent. We've been married for six and a half years and wow! It has been an adventure, a blessing, and some days, something I almost find impossible. That is, it would be without God's amazing faithfulness to our family. Kent's first wife passed away, so this family had lost a lot, but God has seen them through and I am blessed! God has blessed us with three more children since our marriage, 3 little boys. So now we have 4 girls and 4 boys! We're involved with our church family, home school group, and we love doing stuff together as a family. This blog was primarily started as a way to keep in touch with family and friends. But I've made a few blog friends along the way!

Alyssa is almost 21, our oldest daughter. She's in her first year of pharmacy college and is juggling her indepth study load along with a job at an Asian restaurant. When she has free time, you might find her cooking a new Japanese recipe, reading, knitting or crocheting, or canning jellies. She is missed very much and everyone's excited for breaks when she comes home, along with her pet turtle.

Tana, now 19 is in her first year of college, studying exercise science and working two part-time jobs. Tana is a great big sister and makes friends wherever she goes. She has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and can eat ice cream in any season during any time of day. We miss her!

Kalai, 17 years of age, is a junior taking college/highschool classes through distance education. She has her license, is planning a mission trip to Mexico, works at a coffee shop, and is almost ready to test for her black belt. Kalai has been taking an art class and is doing some beautiful portrait work.

Malia, almost 15, is growing into a very thoughtful young lady. She loves birds, makes yummy biscuits, writes with quite a flair, and is almost ready to get her black belt. She's also preparing for her first mission trip to Mexico this summer as well as riding the fundraising bike tour for camp.

Dennie (DJ) is 9 and is only quiet when reading. He loves to run, chase, growl, jump, climb and make more noise. He's very creative and always has several projects ready to work on. He reads very well and likes to try his hand at cooking now and then. If he could do anything, he'd probably like to be fishing.

Levi is almost 4 and is full of amazing ideas and energy. He is a pretty happy boy who loves to play with his brothers, likes Curious George, Legos, and is memorizing Psalm 1. His laugh is contagious, his hand motions are endearing, and his facial expressions are priceless.

Kade is almost 16 months and is pretty good at walking and trying to keep up with big brothers. He is a little quiet but very opinionated. He loves balls and climbing up on the bench to play the piano. He's sporting 8 teeth and eats an amazing amount of food. He's pretty shy of strangers and doesn't like to people to look at him too long. We are so thankful for this little guy that almost didn't make it due to complications towards the end of my pregnancy.

Books I'm Reading

  • Shepherding Your Child's Heart (with Kent)
  • These Happy Golden Years (with DJ)
